The scientific program will include four award lectures and eight invited lectures along with minisymposia, focus sessions, contributed papers, poster sessions, exhibits and the Gallery of Fluid Motion poster and video entries. Over 3000 contributed abstracts are anticipated.
Each year the APS Division of Fluid Dynamics presents the following awards:
- Fluid Dynamics Prize
- Francois Frenkiel Award
- Andreas Acrivos Dissertation Award
- Stanley Corrsin Award
The 2018 award winners, each of whom will give a lecture at the meeting, will be announced in the Fall of 2018.
Invited Lectures, Minisymposia, and Focus Sessions
Eight Invited Lectures on topics of broad interest to the DFD community will be given by experts in each field. The program also includes minisymposia (by invitation, with 20 minute presentations) and focus sessions (regular sessions with 10 minute presentations, arranged by selected chairs) dealing with exciting current research.
